With the move from Dame Street to Pelican Street the also changed the name.
The bar is named after the Irish writer who has a long-standing relationship with Zurich and Switzerland, and in Zurich is also his calm honorary grave in the cemetery Kirche Fluntern.
 

The writer James Joyce spent his most productive years in Zurich to which he always felt drawn to. James Joyce is rumored to have occasionally wrong in jury's Bar, it is sure that he mentioned the bar in his works.
The writer can also be a special atmosphere to it in Dublin's pubs to describe vividly. Among his most important works include Ulysses and Finnegans Wake.
